The NM Center for Language Access at the NM Administrative Office of the Courts offers two online certificate programs.
JUSTICE SYSTEM INTERPRETING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
This 24-week program is designed for court interpreter certification candidates and includes an internship. Due to its great flexibility, the center welcomes participants from all over the country every year. In the State of New Mexico, at the conclusion of the program, students complete the required certification exams. If they do not pass these exams at the level required for certification, they may qualify as Justice System Interpreters, a level of qualification recognized by the NM State Courts.
LANGUAGE ACCESS SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
This 8-week program is taught entirely online. The program is designed for bilingual legal assistants and paralegals, and bilingual employees of the courts and other justice system agencies, and others who provide language access services as part of their regular work.
